Best Time to Visit Morocco

Morocco can be visited year-round, but the best time depends on where you want to go.

Spring (March–May)

The best time for most of Morocco. The desert, the cities and the mountains are all comfortable. Ideal for a Fes to Merzouga desert tour.

Autumn (September–November)

Also excellent, with warm days and cool nights and beautiful light over the dunes.

Summer (June–August)

Very hot in the desert and Marrakech. The coast stays breezy — a great time for Essaouira and the Atlas Mountains.

Winter (December–February)

Pleasant days but cold nights in the desert and snow on the High Atlas. Bring warm layers for a Sahara desert tour.

For the desert specifically, read our guide on the best time to visit the Sahara. Whenever you come, our private Morocco tours adapt to the season.
